D2L Monthly System Maintenance:

Please be advised that the Desire2Learn Hosting Facility performs scheduled server maintenance between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM Eastern Time on the 2nd Sunday of every month. Retrieve your LU ID/Username and Set a Password

Follow these steps to access LU's Desire2Learn (D2L) online learning environment.

Step 1: Go to the following website to access your LU ID number and set a password to login to D2L

http://sspr.laurentian.ca

Step 2: Enter your last name, LU student # (as provided on your degree requirements form) and your date of birth.  Complete the security code verification and then click “Proceed”.

Step 3: On this screen, you will be provided with your Laurentian User ID (i.e. jx_smith).  Please retain this information as it is your ID/username to access several LU services, including D2L. You will then be required to select a password.  Follow the guidelines provided on this page to select a secure password.

Login to D2L

Go to the LU D2L webpage and login http://d2l.laurentian.ca

This is the main entry point to D2L for the duration of your program.  Please make sure to bookmark it!

Note: At this time, you are encouraged to perform a “System check” prior to entering the D2L environment.  This system check should be undertaken from all computers that you plan to use throughout your studies at LU. Use the “Please click here for a System Check before you login” link.

When the system check has been performed, you can then login.

Enter your “Username” - the Laurentian User ID provided when you changed your password

Enter your “Password” - the new password that you selected

Click “Login”

Troubleshooting

You may have some difficulty with the steps involved to retrieve your LU ID/Username and set your password.  Make sure that you are using the appropriate LU student number.  If you cannot remember your number or do not have access to it, please send an e-mail request to luonline@laurentian.ca for this information.  Provide your first and last name, date of birth as well as your home address.  Request that your LU number be sent to you.  You should receive a response within 48 hours.

If you continue to have difficulty retrieving your LU ID/Username and setting your password, please advise esupport@laurentian.ca. The staff will assist you with this step.  

If you cannot login to D2L using the ID/Username and password provided, and completed a “System Check” following the instructions on the D2L login screen, please contact esupport@laurentian.ca for assistance.

Note that e-support staff will only be available to support inquiries regarding D2L beginning July 18, 2011.
